but hey, if Tarja is like that, good on them for booting her out.
If what I have been hearing is true, then I concur. I hate to take sides because I don't know the full situation, but the things that have been filtering out have been kind of obnoxious. Tarja is a talented vocalist, but there are others who can take her place. It was always the music that drew me in; Tarja certainly added to it, but I don't see this as an end to the band. |

Unfortunately, the place I was reading it at, the ProgPower forum, is currently "down for repairs." However, there are people there who are well-informed.
www.ultimatemetal.com/for....php?f=120 is the URL; hopefully it'll be back up and running soon. |

I heard this a couple days ago as well. I'm quite curious to see who they find to replace her, as her voice is certainly one-of-a-kind (especially in that particular genre).

There's actually a number of good, operatic female vocalists in metal. They just don't get recognized in the mainstream U.S. |

My husband is a huge fan of European metal, and has far more CD's than I can keep track of, and I still believe that, based on a lot of the stuff he's played for me, Tarja is one of a kind.
Here's a link to her response to the aforementioned letter: www.virus-mag.com/index.p...43c&a=2243 |

Thanks for the link - I was wondering when she would make a public statement.

I can't believe this. I've been a fan of Nightwish for some time now and would hate to see them break up. Tarja is one of a kind , but there are a few vocalists who have a similar style who are just as good. A good example is the vocalist for Leaves' Eyes, Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull. I guess all good things must come to an end.

I remember hearing that Tarja wanted to go solo after the Once tour. Maybe I had dreamed that.

No you are right . She has worked with Benito Vasquez on one of his cds along with Candice Night . Tarja also was releasing a way overpriced cd . US cost was around $30-40 something ! I never have and never will , pay THAT much for a cd ! Not even for Crimson Glory , either !

Has anyone seen the movie The Cave? The story was pretty standard and the monsters were cool, but there's a Nightwish song during the end credits. It's the only rock song on the entire soundtrack, and I just thought it was cool that they actually used a great band like Nightwish instead of some crappy rap or hip hop artist like they usually do. Maybe the director is a fan.

Check out Nightwish's website. They have a new singer and will be putting out a single around May, and will be touring shortly after.
All hope is not lost ^.~ |

Quote: I don't know if I can agree with that. Tarja was well...Tarja, I don't know if I'll ever like anyone as much. She was Nightwishes difinitive sound. Oh well I suppose I'll have to give the new girl a chance at least. "These violent delights have violent ends.

Indeed, as it was Tuomas that actually wrote and crafted most of the music itself.
