I recently learned of a company that carries some home and garden decor of vampires, gargoyles, and dragons, mostly at very reasonable prices. The website is www.designtoscano.com, for those interested.

The book Paint It Black has alot of spiffy do it yourself stuff. But I'll have to check the site out too.

Design Toscano is definately a great place to find some really cool gothic sculpture. They have some ominous gargoyles and brilliant classical statues. Personally I really like the busts that they carry such as the ancient Greek and Roman gods, but of course my favorite would have to be the Beethoven one. Actually, their website and catalogue carries some of the Monolith journals and I think that something may be in the works for them to carry the Nox Arcana CDs.
If you like Design Toscano, you have to check out Buzz Works. Buzz is a good friend of Joseph, Christine and myself and I must say that I have his sculpture all over my house and can attest to its quality. He has produced many of Joseph's most amazing dark images into statuary such as "Abandon Hope Plaque", "Death Angel Sconce" and even the "Sarcophogus," with many more to come. The site carries sculpture varying from Gothic to Egyptian to Horror. Check out Buzz Works and let Buzz know you are a forum member and he will throw in ghastly free gifts. William |

William, I just checked out Buzz Works, Wow he's done an awesome job on some Monolith works. I like some of his stuff for sure.
Another Goth Decor store is: In Dark Decorium, they carry Jewelery, Clothing, Accessories, Home Decor & Furnishings, some great stuff! They also carry Monolith Graphics products Design Toscano is Goth Heaven! They have such darkly delightful stuff that makes you just drool. I own a few things from there such as : The Unwelcomed Gargoyle Door Plaque he's devilishly adorable, also, The Beltane Castle Sculptural Mirror wall Dragon tealight wall sconce, and perhaps my fav's are my pair of Whitechapel Manor Gargoyle Tealight wall sconces, they're my Lair guardians, oh and I also have 1 Marshgate Castle Dragon Sculptural Electric wall sconce. Be sure to check out they're Socrates The Gargoyle Thinker Sculpture, he's so awesome. Due to where I live there is not much in the way of Goth decor, so other then one little goth shop that just opend up 1 year ago, I end up buying 99% of my gothic home decor items on ebay from various stores there, actually it's there that I found Monolith & Nox Arcana. |

Dragon Art Work has some really nice products, Dutchess, but most of them seemed pretty high-priced compared to other places; the 'Sorcerer Gargoyle' tealight holder is twice the price of Design Toscano's similar 'Dark Shadows' lamp. The other site you mentioned was actually In Dark Decorum. I figured I'd leave the link for anyone that would like to check it out.

Well,it's been awhile since anyone posted here on this particular thread...so I thought that maybe, perhaps I could possibly generate some new interest here.
First off,I have to agree that Design Toscano really does offer some cool Gothic-Medieval & Fantasy THEMED decor and other fine pieces as well. However,My specialty is that I happen to collect antique & vintage Gothic,Medieval and Mythological/Fantasy THEMED decor...ie.Gargoyles,Grotesques,Gryphons,Northwind Faces,Bacchus,Greenman,Satyrs,Devils,etc,etc.....does anybody here, happen to collect antique or vintage decor of this nature? Or am I the only one into the classic stuff here ? |

I have always collected gothic, medieval and celtic pieces, but they are usually reproductions that I can find at renaissance fairs and sites like design toscano.
You should post some images of your antique items. I would love to see them. William |

Greetings,William
Thanks for the inquiry, regarding posting some pics of some of my pieces.I would love to do that! However,I have yet to purchase a digital camera...but I do plan on purchasing one before too long though...just alot of stuff going on,you know.I'm in the process of building,in co-partnership with a friend of mine,a website devoted to Horror and Monsters,Sci-Fi and the Fantasy genres, which will of course, include Gothic,Medieval and Mythological elements as well. The name of my website is called: "Monstervania" or www.monstervania.com and is registered already, but nothing is posted as of yet.I will definately give you,Joseph and Christine all the details and let you know when we go live though. Okay, back to the topic at hand...I too, also collect some resin pieces from time to time as well. But,I always try and find old, antique or vintage stuff that I can afford. However, there are alot of things that I cannot afford(but wish I could). |

I've been giving serious consideration to doing a "monster house" type renovation to my bedroom. I've got it all planed out in my head and everything. Only problem is, I share the room with my two boyfriends (yes, I'm in a threesome) and I'm much more darker then they are. They're more interested in Otherkin type fantasy then Goth. But at least I can sneak a few gargoyles in here and there with all our vast dragon collection.
When I have time. I'll post some links that I've found for gothic cold cast resin furniture. Sadly though, the best looking pieces of furniture and decor come from England. The stuff is expensive enough without all the added shipping. But it's nice to drool a bit. |

Speaking of a "Monster House" type renovation...LOL
I happen to have a room in my home solely devoted to Gothic type Decor and all things relative that tends to veer towards the spooky side, and YES!... including, monsters, demons and aliens, too! It's an ongoing continual work in progress and it a room that has several working THEMES,but they all connect or are related on some level. It's actually what some people might call, their "MAN ROOM" or "MAN CAVE"! However,be that as it may...by some,It's been called the ROOM of DOOM and the ROOM OF GLOOM! Hauntedlair (Ron) |

I have more than a few skull and skeletal things adorning my room. I actually found two lifesize skulls than I have two of, one on each of my stereo speakers.
Really, it's best to look in obscure places for things of this nature. I found the skulls, along with a really awesome owl garden sculpture thing (which looks just as great indoors) at a blow out store called Big Lots around Halloween time for four and seven dollars a piece. And I believe I also got a smaller skull pile ornament there for four dollars as well. You never know where cool Gothic stuff will pop up. |

Your room sounds kuul Hauntedlair. Could you show us some pics of it.
A few years back, my oldest son and I were discussing how to decorate his room once we finally get a house. His name is Jason and yes, he was born on Friday the 13th. So naturally he wanted something to capitalize on that. His room was going to be half "Aadam's family" delapitated victorian and half spooky graveyard. We were going to have mossy looking curtains hanging from the celing and his bed would be just like a freshly dug grave. Comeplete with the "Here lies Jason" on the headboard. I couldn't find all my old links but here's one of them. I've seen several different designs on that cast resin throne, but this site only caries the one of them. I used to have a link for iron furniture shaped to look like spiderweds too. I'll have to search around for it. www.spellowhouse.com/gothic_furniture.php |
