Posts: 117 09/02/06 10:07	I just received my set of Gothic Tarot cards today (thanx to my delectible other half for getting them from the Post and bringing them to my work) Of course, I had to shuffle through them first thing upon arriving home (still scratching my head at how Mr Vargo signed them then put the shrinkwrap back on??) I took them into work but refused to let anyone besides myself handle them (I'm a bit particular about that) Putting them in silk, then under my pillow to charge them with my influences. More later. DM

Posts: 117 09/04/06 12:09	I have a quick question for you Mara... I've wrapped the cards in silk and had them under my pillow for only one night. Upon checking my Witches' Almanac there is a partial lunar eclipse to take place Wed Sept 6th just prior to the full moon phase on Thurs Sept 7th. I've been having awful migraines and unremembered dreams. Just plain not with itness (That's not me) Do think there is a possible connection? Perhaps I should wait until the next full moon phase to charge my cards? DM

Nightstalker Posts: 704 09/04/06 8:48	Myself, I believe in charging the cards with use, instead of imbuing them upon arrival by using moonlight or other ritual work. I prefer to sit and suffle to my heart's content as the cards begin to wear in ever so gently, and to meditate on imagery, sometimes as a nightly "dream meditation," as a means to connect with the deck. Be gentle with your energy even in your enthusiasm to imprint on your new deck... after all, you need your energy more than they do! Also, drink more water, as simple as that seems, it often helps. Many times when I'm having "not with it ness" (I love that) it's because I've gone to far into my crown chakra, and ignored the other end of the spectrum, the root chakra. I'm sure you're familiar with grounding and such, so of course keep that up, but don't forget our bodies ground with food and definitely water. Work to stimulate your lower chakras, you're imbalanced too "high" basically.... You're in good shape, don't you worry! Posts: 117 09/04/06 2:19	Thanx again, Mara. Like I replied in my email to you, I've never had such an occurence with any of the decks I now own. Perhaps moving from one climate (25+ yrs) to another (only a matter of over a month) takes more getting used to than I first imagined. Going to try a simple one card reading for today and roll with it. See how things go. IV of Swords (Upright) It seems even the cards are telling me to take it easy. chucking to herself An exile, solitude, seclusion or withdrawl. Rest during a dangerouse period. Enjoy the quietude. Ok, ok, I take the very subtle hint... I promised to follow what the card revealed and I plan on doing such (even though I have to work on this holiday when almost everyone has the day off) Keep you posted on what happens. More later DM

Posts: 44 09/15/06 10:27	I currently work with two decks, Vargo's, and one called "The Ancestral Path". Both have equal and opposite personalities. While Ancestral path is quiet, gentle, and descriptive- Vargo's deck is blunt and to the point. xD It won't give you room for gray area, that's for sure.

Posts: 117 09/16/06 5:35	Yes, Madame Mara has been quite helpful. I gratefully appreciate her wisdom and sharing some of her knowledge with us on matters as they arise. I'm so used to my Goddess Deck (which makes me look into a reading to find my answers) to adding my Gothic Tarot deck (which all but stands on my feet and sceams in my face what I'm looking for) I'm adjusting well enough. Now if I can just remember to look for the sharks before jumping into the water, I'll be fine!!!

I can see how a deck such as that one might speak in "flowery" words, whereas my Gothic often speaks a bit more "blunty" as well. Lygolas, good to see you 'round these parts again... now why don't you go and polish Mara's Iron Maiden, it got dusty while you were gone. Darkest Melody, how are you feeling of late? Any changes to your routine, any changes felt inside? A bit more grounded, less of the "whirlies" happening? I even went to my new favorite mystic shop and purchased some incense (upon inspecting it more closely) Mystic Forest scent. It has grounding and purification properties...I just found the scent wonderfully exotic and made the purchase by smell alone. LOL As far as routine changes, looks like my Gothic deck has it's own breaking in rituals which I will become more familiar with as I use them.

The next time I stop in to my mystic shop (I normally peruse the different crystal pieces to see if any call to me) I am desperately in need of more grouding incense (mystic forest) With our upcoming handfasting on Oct 21st, trying to gather the neccessary pieces needed to finish the altar and such. Musing if I should also include the 'something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue' theme? Perhaps the tarot of today spoke of incorporating all beliefs into this upcoming ceremony?
