Be Relevant:
When posting, please be sure to keep your comments appropriate and specific to the current topic. Any posts that have nothing to do with the topic will be moved or deleted.
Smart Subject Headings:
Not so much a "rule" but it's a good idea to try to be descriptive in the subject heading. But also keep it short. This way others will know what your message is about and they can choose to read it or not.
Photos:
Please keep photos to a minimum. No larger than 500 pixels wide, 700 pixels tall. Otherwise it just slows down the server for those with dial up access and may stretch too far across smaller screens. Also, no blatant advertisements (like flyers or banners in your signature), no nudity, or really obscene stuff you know will be removed anyway, and will just result in immediate banning of your account.
Be Considerate:
We all know what this means. Those who don't will discover the meaning very quickly.
Everyone's a Critic:
Expressing your opinion about the latest movie, book, music cd, whatever... That's fine. Just don't be nasty and don't get personal, especially if it's an independent project. Major studio films and well-established authors or famous bands are fair game. But even so, try to be informative in your critique and make valid points regarding any shortcomings, instead of just bashing it.
Example: If the project is some big budget production and you're saying to yourself "If I had X amount of dollars to play with, I would have done this..." then go right ahead and talk about what didn't make sense in a story, or how the effects were ameturish, or the acting was substandard, or if the concept was not fully thought out, or whatever. On the other hand, consider the work involved in doing an independent project and whether or not your comments would actually cause harm to a small group of people. The main goal of a reviewer is to inform and give opinion, not to be malicious.
Nonsense Posts:
One-liners and gobblygook will be deleted. We aim to run a tight ship, so if you have nothing to say of value, don't waste your time or ours.
No Foul Language:
If you cannot be inventive and have to resort to swearing to express emotion, get a thesaurus or dictionary. There's people of all ages here, and we simply want to keep the forum appropriate. We just don't want any angry parents banning their kids from having some good 'ole clean fun.

Well, that's about it. It's pretty much common sense.
