When I'm taking my dogs out to go to the bathroom, I play Blackthorn Asylum. When I'm cleaning the house, I listen to Transylvania. When I'm writing crap on my computer, I listen to Shadow of the Raven (or when I'm reading Edgar Allan Poe). When I'm doing homework, I listen to either Grimm Tales or Darklore Manor. So I got a purpose for almost all of the CD's I own.

This image was taken from my "Science gone awry" haunted house a couple of years ago. This was the first of many props (as well as my personal favorite) that I have amassed over the years. For some reason I call him "Doug" and he has been a permanent fixture in each of my exhibits. The Surgeon.

I use certain Nox Arcana songs when I'm writing. I find Masque of the Red Death extremely useful for war scenes and "belladonna" and "Madeline's lament" for loss/aftermath scenes the kind of scenes where the main character walks among the corpses of his fallen brethren through the ruins of a once proud city. Like for instance I used belladonna for this opening scene."The pretensions of the once great capital were now bitterly apparent. Abandoned cars sat along sidewalks and in the middle of the road. The air tasted of a morbid mixture of burnt flesh, ash and tears. The Washington monument, once a testament to human ingenuity and perseverance now stands as a bleak reminder of just how easily it can crumble." Echoes of the wastes by Atrum Equitus.
