How to draw Vargo Artwork Book? |
Lead | ||
|
OK, I was in my PE locker room today in school, getting back in my normal clothes, thinking about how sucky I looked in my driver's permit that I got
yesterday, and my friend Jackie was drooling over my other friend Taylor's drawings that she drew when she was bored. Then I said, "I really wish I
could draw like Joseph Vargo." Then I thought, some fans of Joseph who really like the style that he draws would probably want a How To Draw Vargo Artwork
book. Do any of you think this is a good idea? It would probably be titled, "How to Draw the Gothic Realms of Joseph Vargo". Slap me upside the head
if you think this idea is stupid (don't hit me too hard, though).

I could see maybe some kind of book like this, with "How To" tips on how to draw things like gargoyles, ghosts, witches, monsters and other kinds of things. I'm not sure it would be for kids unless there were different versions of it or something, but older patrons of the arts might love the idea of such a book just as much as kids. (Is not calling her a kid, but is trying to imagine and visualize people of all ages loving the thought of a book like this, and yes, it's easy to see) |

Seriously, you might be on to something there, with the book I mean. We'd have to see, but I can see the fans of all ages having interest in it. ~So saith the Shadow Lord~ |

I'm glad you think that my idea is kinda good. I wonder what Master Joseph would think.

Not a bad idea, Adrienne. I think also that an instructional DVD would be
cool as well, with Sire Joseph giving tips on his style of painting...would make for a great companion to the instructional artwork book...I could see it now, Joseph Vargo, the Bob Ross of the Gothic-Horror and Fantasy realm of art! ...how about even a Joseph Vargo art coloring book for the kids? |

~Stepping from the shadows with a twirl of his cloak and a courtly bow.* *Smiles at hearing the comparison to Bob Ross. Can just picture Joseph Vargo being
filmed while painting, and crooning to the viewing audience about happy graveyards, happy little gnarled trees, happy gargoyles, happy little ghosts, angels
and so on. ~
I like these ideas, and the one for the kids would be cute. ~So saith the Shadow Lord~

Verily merit is to be had in my estimation with both the idea of the art instruction book (How To) and the coloring book. I like both tangents of thought. Maybe even an instructional DVD too. *Still gets a mental image of Joseph Vargo as a "darker" Bob Ross talking about "happy gnarled trees" *Joking, in good clean friendly fun.* ~So saith the Shadow Lord~ |

I think I might have irritated Belladonna Darklore with the mention of the coloring book idea. *LOL* ...but I bet if there were ever one made available, she'd be first in line to grab a copy ...especially since it would have to do with Sire Joseph's artwork... but telling me, YOU SUCK!!!!! go figure. |

~Stepping forth from the shadows with a twirl of his cloak, blue eyes alight with deep thought~
Personally, I do see merit in both ideas, meaning the instructional book and coloring book. Granted, Mr. Vargo has stated in a radio interview with WERE back in the 1990's that most of his work is "not for the general public", but I believe there are people of all age groups that are fascinated with monsters and scary stories. If you're going to have a How To book for teens and adults and "tweeners", why not have a coloring book for children too? Even adults can love coloring books, like they love cartoons. ~So saith the Shadow Lord~

JCRME wrote: *Reply: I also think that illuminated Joseph Vargo artwork would be a pretty nifty idea as well...you know, being backlit. Maybe the art could be printed on a type of high quality UV rated clear vinyl material... giving the artwork the appearance that of gothic stained glass when backlit. What do you think?

About the idea of Vargo artwork on UV material to look like Gothic stained glass... Now that is , I think, a potentially wonderful notion. A very elegant look,
to be sure.
