I'm assuming you're refering to Requiem...

First, let me say I am a huge Predator fan. I'm not into the Aliens, but if they're here so Predators can kick their butts, then so be it.

The first AVP: The plot was kinda cornball, but it had some interesting moments. My fav scenes are:

** In the beginning when the young Predators are suiting up, ready to battle. Actually, it's the SOUNDS that I like !! Extending the dual wrist swords, extending the double wrist blades, cocking the wrist blades and sheathing the ceremonial dagger.... all that clanging metal sound. Fantastic! Oh, and then there's that familiar Predator garggle growl !!

** When the three youngsters (Scar, Celtic and Chopper) all stand atop the giant ice shaft at the whaling station and Celtic communicates back to the ship. Cool to see the three together.

** Scar wielding his retractable spear, then extending it to scare Lexi. Yes, I know it's a CGI, but it's still cool.

So, on to AVP:R.

I waited 3 years for THIS????????????????????????????????????
I wanted to gouge my eyeballs out it was so painful to watch.
I think I cried myself to sleep after watching it.
(I did buy the DVD, but ONLY because I'm a Predator fan)
It's too dark.
Not enough Predator action.
Even the "gore" is pitiful.
The characters are bland and the acting is worse.
I could have cared less about the characters.

The pool scene had me literally GAGGING. I swear I heard the Jaws theme song playing. Utterly predictable.

The only scene I liked (that I could SEE) was when Wolf (the Predator) is fighting the Chet (the Predalien) on the rooftop in the rain, and he's wielding his whip around. Very cool. Made Indiana Jones look like a freakin wimp. The movie is a little under 2 hours and this is the only scene that really gets me going. Jeez.

I did like the Predator's 2 new toys:

** The barbed whip - which doesn't melt in the alien blood. Wish I could have SEEN MORE of it (spoken sarcastically)
** The claymore mines (used in the sewers) Wolf activates from his wrist to turn on the laser trip wires

I read it (AVP:R) was nominated for 2 Golden Raspberry awards ("Worse Excuse For A Horror Movie" .. and .. "Worst Sequel"). It didn't win either. Not sure if that's good or bad

For suspense, my favorite is Predator one (with Arnie) and for action and cool shots of the Predators, it's AVP.

So, there's my 2 cents' worth.
Now I think I'll go watch AVP!!
