Luckily, my gods do not demand pathetic displays of obsequiousness and servility, grovelling on my knees for scraps from their table. The gods of my ancestors respect deeds and wisdom, strength and honour, and this leaves me unfettered in a world surrounded by "godfearing people" afraid to live, feel and love. I agree with you, only a god incapable of evoking respect and admiration would instead rule with the tyranny of fear.

I subscribe only to what morality suits my philosophical views, and in doing so, free myself of centuries of mounting dogma and attempts to dominate the people's hearts and minds.

Thus, I'm with you, my friend.
