Alien vs Predator was not much of a 'horror' in my opinion. I thought such a hyped up movie would have more of a scary storyline.

What were everyone elses views on it?

I recently sat down and watched the first two seasons of "Supernatural" on DVD (unfortunately I can't watch the new episodes do to not having a TV with cable). I just thought about this film last night. I thoroughly enjoyed it and think it's worthy of a mention here. Didn't particularly think much to the sequel though but they rarely live up to the original films anyway.

The only sequel that I think ever did this was The Fly but that would be a different posting!

What I really wish they would do is a movie based on the Son of Satan comic book by Marvel only make it a little bit more dark and mysterious,and a little less campy, while keeping the same basic concept. Anybody remember that series?

Recently IFC has been showing the Coffin Joe Trilogy which consists of "At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul", "This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse", & "Awakening Of The Beast". In September, Midnite Movies is back on track, The Long-awaited release of The Conqueror Worm/ Witchfinder General will be finally be making it's debut on DVD.
This is great news for fans of the AIP/Poe/Corman/Price films of the sixties and seventies.
Rumours abound about what footage will be included: some was cut for US release, whereas the UK version was a bit more bloody.
I love all the classics from Universal, to Hammer and Bava, but AIP flicks were great because they looked...

Allegedly coming out Oct. 2, Zoetrope announced an "enhanced" release of the Coppola film, not a lot of info as of yet, some folks over at the chfb seem to think it may be along the lines of "Apocolypse, Now: Redux" with extra footage and such.
Apparently, when BSD was released to laserdisc, it had lots of extras, whereas the dvd extras have been pretty slim.
Looking forward to this, as imho, this was the frontrunner of various studios' re-imaginings of the classic...

Just got back from seeing this one and I have to admit, it's high on my creepy meter. I do regret one thing though. My 11 year old wanted to go see it with me. I didn't think it would be scary enough to frighten him but he had to keep his eyes closed for most of it. And though he said that he really liked the movie, he also admited that he may have nightmares tonight. Guess I need to be on "light sleep mommy mode" for the next couple of nights.

Zombie's Films

I wish the guy would make an actual monster movie, for once.
House of 1K Corpses was decent and was kind of chintzy in a Tarantino-style nod to the 70's flicks.
With Devil's Rejects, he ratcheted everything up to an uncomfortable level, and I felt went too far. Besides, he just did the serial-killer thing with the last film.
So now the choice is to remake or revision or what have you Halloween?
Certain movies you just leave alone.

I went to see "Ghost Rider" tonight, and let me tell you, the word "anticlimactic" doesn't begin to sum it up.

Ghost Rider is a great visual, but I don't think I have ever read one issue of his comic book. I know what he is and what he does, but I don't know about his rogue's gallery, love interest, or any of that stuff. But I do know that on a visual level, he's one of the coolest comic book characters ever. He's a biker with a flaming skull for a head! Gotta get...

Boy, I am disheartened right now. Annette Klause's "Blood and Chocolate" is one of the best werewolf novels ever and has been in development as a movie for at least 7 years. It took them this long to make a movie that looks like it wants to be "Underworld 3." Crap.

Did any of you catch Joseph's drawings a few nights ago on the Biography Channel? They had a re-showing of "The Secret Life of Vampires", first shown last Halloween season.
